Ins' Cucina: How to make Embutido (Meat Loaf)
By InsSaa
This recipe applies only for 1/2 kilo minced lean pork which will make 5 rolls of embutido. If you wished to make more, just adjust the other ingredients.
Ingredients:
1/2 kl lean pork, minced
3-6 sausages depends on its size, cooked separately
1 regular sized carrot, minced
1 red bell pepper, regular size, minced
1 onion, minced
5 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp. pickle relish
2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp full cream milk powder or 1 tbsp corn starch
1 egg beaten
ground pepper to taste
1 sachet magic sarap or ginisa flavor mix or any seasoning
3 hard boiled eggs, sliced in quarter
Cheese (optional)
Raisins (optional, this will give brown color to your meat, if you don't like it, you can omit this)
Aluminum foil
Combine
in big bowl the minced pork, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, pickle
relish, salt, seasoning, pepper, cornstarch, beaten egg, milk powder,
bread crumbs. Mix well until thoroughly blended. Place small amount of
the mixture in the aluminum foil (depend on your desired size of
embutido), make a space in the middle of the mixture and stuff it with
sausage, boiled eggs and cheese or raisin. Cover the fillings with the
meat mixture and roll the aluminum foil. Steam for 1 hour and 20 mins.
Serve hot. Keep refrigerated the other embutido!
